Europe on the brink of war. An English ballroom dance instructor is trapped in Berlin. The Kaiser is waiting to dance...

The Kaiser And I

The Kaiser and I’ is a two-hander centred on the platonic relationship between a ballroom dance teacher and her Prussian Army Officer pupil in Berlin in the run-up to and during the First World War.

Berlin 1914

Europe stands on the brink of war.
In the Kaiser’s palace his English dance instructor puts her pupil through his paces.
On the western front his generals await their orders. Let the dancing begin….

A tender comic account of an unusual friendship across the divide.
