10.30am Castle Square to Cwmdonkin Park, Swansea - a special one-off performance of our acclaimed promenade version of Thomas' classic, Return Journey, for International Dylan Day

Dylan Thomas’ Return Journey

Dylan Thomas’ masterpiece, based on the city that once was but is no more following the bombing raids of the Second World War, is both touch and tragic, funny and frivolous. Performed on the streets of Swansea in the summer of 2014.

Return Journey

‘one of the most innovative productions of this year’s festival’

The Daily Telegraph

‘it just got good…Dylan Thomas has been with us all along’

Culture Colony Quarterly

‘a sublime reading of the wordsmith’s works’

South Wales Evening Post

Filled with characters that can still be seen on the streets of Swansea, it is a tribute to the spirit of old Swansea Town. Presented with the National Waterfront Museum, the Dylan Thomas Centre and DT100, this fully costumed promenade production was brought to life on the streets that inspired it, throughout the summer of Dyan’s centenary celebrations.

‘Oh I remember him from the old Kardomah days; he still owes me half a crown!’
